Introduction-
Have you ever wondered what it is like to count in a different language?  Well today we as a class are going to find out!

Body-
The teacher will be in the front of the classroom with the students around her.

The teacher will begin by showing the first poster with the number on it.
Underneath the English word zero there will also be the Spanish word for zero. Example: Zero-Cero  MI-Visual/Spatial

The teacher will say the word Cero sounding each syllable out.
The students will then repeat after the teacher. MI-Verbal.

The teacher will do this procedure for each number 0-10.

After all ten numbers have been taught, the teacher will assign each student or group of students a number from 0-10.  That child or group of children are responsible for making a page for the Spanish book of numbers.  MI- Visual/Spatial

After the students are finished, the teacher will collect the papers.

Closure-
The teacher will have the students compare and contrast between the two languages.  Example: Comparison-Zero-Cero Contrast-Five-Cinco
MI-Mathematical/Logical

The teacher will inform the students that she will put the pages of the book together and they can go over the numbers in class the next day.

Now you can go home and show your parents what it is like to count in a different language!  MI-Interpersonal

Evaluation Method
The teacher will grade the students according to participation.  Students will also be expected to make a page in the Spanish Counting Book.

Adaptations
The special needs children will be accommodated for according to their
need.
