Well, I got this idea from my mother in law, who is homeschooling her grandchildren. But it's really easy. And it's really fun, and the kids love it!

All you need is: Computer/Internet access, paper, and an imagination!

You have your child find a web site that has printable coloring pages. When you find one they like, print it out! Then you explain to them that you want them to color it in the very best that they can, and really take their time with it! Then you sit down with them, and have them create a story about the picture that they colored. You can type it up on Word Perfect or whatever word processor you have. You can help them elaborate if you need to. You have them explain the story to you, because if they write it out FIRST, then it doesn't tend to be very long. Make it as descriptive as possible! Then you print it out, and have them re-write it themselves! They can do this in print, or cursive. This is a great project, and so easy to do! It works on their art skills, their creative writing skills, internet skills, and hand-writing skills! When they are done, I tape the printed out story (or you can do the hand-written one) to the colored page, and put it up on display for all to see! They love this! Of course, you print "By Your Child" (name) at the bottom! Good luck! Have Fun!

Feel free to email me with any advice or questions!
