Title - Interactive Media Community Service Project

Grade Level - 7-12

Working in groups of 2 or 3, determine a school or community need and prepare an informational campaign. Some examples might be: river pollution, fighting terrorism at home, recycling, teenage drinking, homelessness, violence in school, dating issues, etc.. Have your project concept approved by the instructor.

Prepare an advertising campaign for your cause. You will be required to use all the following tools: Digital camera, scanner, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. You will be required to prepare a project outline, a written summary, a logo and letterhead, a brochure, a newspaper ad and present a PowerPoint presentation to a panel of experts. You may NOT use materials with a copyright.

The following rubric may be used as a checklist.
    Project Outline: (10 pts. poss.)
      Describe the problem. Show your statistics and research, surveys, experiments, etc.

    Written Summary: (20 pts. poss.)
      Include graphs, sources, etc.

    Logo and Letterhead: (20 pts. poss.)
      Develop an original Logo and Letterhead. Use Graphics and/or Special Text. Prepare an example in color and in black and white.

    Brochure: (20 pts. poss.)
      Prepare a color and a B/W brochure. Limit fonts to 2 styles. Add lots of pictures and/or graphics.

    Newspaper Advertisement: (20 pts. poss.)
      Determine the size of a 1/4 page ad in your local paper. The ad should be prepared using a gray scale and should be prepared using a font similar to your newspaper's style.

    Storyboard: (20 pts. poss.)
      Prepare your storyboard for your powerpoint Presentation. Include transitions, themes, pictures, etc.

    PowerPoint Presentation: (30 pts. poss.)
      Add Music.. Show should run without mouse click and should last between 2-5 minutes

    Total Possible Pts.: 140
