Note from LessonPlansPage.com: Although this is an end-of-year idea, you must work on it from the beginning of the year.

This is a twist on the

end of the year PowerPoint idea

submitted previously.

I love using technology in my classroom so my children become very good at PowerPoint. Collect many pictures throughout the year and allow the students to bring in some pictures of their own.

Place the pictures in an organized folder and if you have an inner school network system you could put the folder on a drive that could be accessed from anywhere in the school. (This came in handy when the children were working in the computer lab, library, classroom and other teacher’s rooms.)

The students work in pairs and make a PowerPoint to say goodbye to their classmates. They are given a choice of background music (Listen to any music that the children want to use in their presentation.) to incorporate into their presentation and they present it to the class on the last day of school.

The students did an amazing job and it was a sweet ending to a great year. I normally do the PowerPoint presentations myself, but I have to admit that my students did a better job than I usually do. I also didn’t have the time stress of getting one more thing completed at the end of the year by allowing the students to do the presentations. I also believe it meant more to them. Next year I will invite the parents to see the presentations.
