Title - Gumball Drawing
By - Diana Eells
Primary Subject - Computers / Internet
Secondary Subjects - Art
Grade Level - 2-5

This is a simple lesson on using the circle tool in MS Paint.

Time: appoximately 15-30 minutes depending on the extent of detailing in the drawing.

Students will use MS Paint to create a gumball machine. Instruct students to draw a gumball machine and fill it with colorful gumballs. They must use the circle tool to create the gumballs. Next have them color the gumballs using the paint bucket tool. This lesson is great for teaching the use of the circle. I have used this lesson with grades 2nd through 5th. It is great to see the varying levels of creativity.

I quickly drew an example on the white board to give them a visual. My drawing was of a traditional red base machine and a round globe on top. The kids saw beyond that and created gumball machines full of surprises.
