Title - Christmas Mouse Pad Creations
By - Barbara Stephens
Primary Subject - Computers / Internet
Secondary Subjects - Art
Grade Level - 1-5

This is a computer lab project taking three weeks before the holiday. It incorporates computer drawing skills and learning how to print by changing the printer settings. The mouse pad can be used at home and will be a nice keepsake for years to come.

Using KidPix software, each student will draw a picture of his choice using the various tools. After the picture has been saved on a floppy disk, it will be printed out on transfer paper (in reverse). The teacher will iron the transfer picture onto a mouse pad. This will be a gift to be taken home.

This project is being used by many computer teachers and has had good results.
