1. You have been assigned to research 2 famous inventions. You must pick 1 invention that you do not

know anything about, and 1 invention that you are familiar with.

2. DO NOT do your research on airplanes.

3. Groups assigned to use the Internet must type in the following address:

http://web.mit.edu/invent/www.inventarchive.html Make sure that the address is typed as shown or

you will not get to the right site.

4. Groups assigned to use multi-media encyclopedias or bookshelf do a search for inventions.

5. Groups assigned to use books, make sure that each person takes only one book and to put it back when

you are done or need to use another.

6. You must share materials with others in the class.

7. You can work with others in your group to research the inventions or you can work alone.

8. You must answer the questions that are listed below in complete sentences.

9. If you have questions, first ask a classmate and then ask a teacher if you do not get the answer you need.

10. Work quickly, quietly, carefully.

11. You have 15 minutes to complete this project.
