Title – Textured stencils

By – Debbie Haren

Subject – Art

Grade Level – PreK-2

Buy the roughest kind of sand paper you can find and cut out shapes, numbers, animal outlines or anything else you can think of. Then glue the outline onto heavy paper or cardboard. Have students use a piece of paper and a crayon to color over the item and it becomes a rubbing of that object with texture. It looks really neat and it is great for students that need to keep their hands busy when they are learning.
