Title - Stained Glass Windows
By - Nigel Branson
Primary Subject - Art
Grade Level - 1-7

Materials:
    A4 Cartridge Paper
    Pencil
    Water Paints / Block Paints
    Cooking Oil
    Paper Towel
Activity:
First, design your stained glass window. Grades 1-3 should stick to using clear shapes such as squares, triangles and rectangles. Grades 4-7 can experiment with any design.

Using your paints, paint the shapes. Be sure not to leave any white paper. Once the paint is a little dry, paint a black strip around the edge of your window and paint over every line to help separate the colors. Then, leave the paper to dry.

When the painting is dry, lightly brush your painting with cooking oil and hang up to dry again. The oil helps to make your paint more transparent.

Lay your painting on some paper towels and put some more paper toweling on top to help soak up the rest of the oil.

When it is dry again, tape the finished stained glass window onto a window for the best effect. This artwork takes awhile to dry, but looks great when it is finished. Try it and enjoy the beauty!
