Title – Paint a Picture of what you want to be

By – Debbie Haren

Subject – Social Studies, Art, Other

Grade Level – K-3

Talk to students about occupations that they can do when they grow up. Talk to the students about what their parents do. Give each child a piece of paper and watercolors. Talk to the students first about what they would like to be when they grow up. Have them think of a sentence or two about that job and why they would like to do it. Then have the children make their own picture about them doing that job. At the bottom have them write a sentence or two if they can about their occupation. If they cannot then have the teacher or assistant write a sentence or two for them. Hang the watercolors up after they are dry.
