For this lesson you will need the following:
Newspapers
Glue, liquid or stick
copier paper, letter size
scissors

What you need to do first is have the children read over some of the headlines from the newspaper, that relate to the WTC attack or the Pentagon attack. Have them cut out some of the headlines and lay them to the side. The next thing that you will need to do is to have them find colored pictures from the newspaper about the attacks and have them rip them up into small (dime sized) pieces. Have them construct a flag that has the more bluish colored pieces for the star box and the reddish pieces for the red stripes. For the white stripes they will place the headlines.
