Title - Puppets
By - Sandi
Primary Subject - Art
Secondary Subjects - Other
Grade Level - 1-5

The first week of school, I give each student a pre-cut pattern of a boy or girl to decorate. I instruct them not to color or give detail to the head or face area. I then take a close-up photo of each child's face, which is cut and glued to the puppet's face. Next, each child glues a paint stirrer stick to the back of their puppet. Finally, a small ball of clay is given to each child so puppets can be displayd on desktops. This is a hit on "Open School Night" when parents arrive to see their child's smiling face. I recycle and reuse puppets over and over again throughout the year.
