Learner objective:

• Drawing the human face.
  
  (1 minute)

Rationale:

• Learning drawing skills is useful in the study of other subjects such as geometry, biology or science. Students should be able to display as an outcome, the human face drawing. It is not necessary that they have artistic gifts.
  
  (2 minutes)

Bridging:

• Last class, students identified drawing as a resource to help their learning. Today they learn to draw the human face.
  
  (3 minutes)

Pre-assessment:

• “What are some of the drawing experiences you have had in school other than in art class?”
• “What are the parts of human face?”
  
  (5 minutes)

Learning Activities:

• Instructor: Describes how to draw an oval in the middle of the paper sheet.
• Learner: Opens notebook and identifies how to draw an oval.
  
  (3 minutes)

• Instructor: Explains how to draw with pencil, four lines to divide the oval. Three lines vertical and another horizontal line. First divided the oval in half vertically with the first line, then divided each half in half vertically. Then divided the oval in half horizontally with the final line.
• Learner: Draw three lines vertical on the oval, and another horizontal as described above.

• Instructor: Instructs students to draw a third horizontal line parallel to the others, horizontally dividing the bottom section at a little less half, and then draw the mouth.
• Learner: Draw two wavy lines united on the third horizontal line using the central vertical line as reference.

• Instructor: Instructs students to draw a pair of ovals at both sides of the face.
• Learner: Draw two ovals at both sides of the principal oval, beginning close to the first horizontal line and ending close to the second one.
  
  (2 minutes)

• Instructor: Explain that the rest of the drawing will be completely freehand.
• Learner: Apply freehand drawing to build the hair.
  
  (3 minutes)
