Title - Flag Making Strategy
By - Mary Whiteley
Primary Subject - Social Studies
Secondary Subjects - Art
Grade Level - K - 12

You need:
    1. Chain link fencing on your school site
    2. Paper cups in the colors of the flag you want to represent.
Push the cups into the diamond spaces. Cups need to be large enough to stick by pressure within the openings without collapsing the cup.

Form the color pattern that will best recreate the flag.

Will stay up for several weeks unless you have a typhoon coming your way.... some resetting might need to be done for maintaining, but the kids love to volunteer to do this at recess.

Note from LessonPlansPage.com: This idea can also be used to form words such as "U S A," "G O T E A M," "W E L C O M E !" or even complicated mosaic art. It is especially appropriate on Flag Day, 4th of July, and during the Olympics.
