Objective: To illustrate a patriot song through a student created art slide show for a patriotic holiday event

Take a patriotic song (American the Beautiful, Star-Spangled Banner) and have the students illustrate a line or two of that song. Allow for many rough drafts. After the rough drafts are approved, have the student(s) color them. After the coloring is done, scan the pictures and make into a slide show for a patriotic holiday program.

We used our slide show in our Veteran's Day program. The students were excited to see their finished product being projected to the audience. The words and pictures were choreographed to be together. This project was time consuming, but the results were well worth it.
